Hi, I’m Ashley! I go by Ashley or Ash, either one works for me!
So who I am? Well, I am a 28 year old Medical Aesthetician, who also happens to be a variety of other things: an influencer, a farmer’s daughter, an ex-bodybuilder, a health coach, and a marketing specialist. I am constantly learning and doing new things, and my background clearly reflects that.
I grew up in the small town of Oregon, Illinois, where I lived until I graduated high school. My family farms corn and soybeans, and it is a family run business. I have helped my family with farming for most of my life, as we all love doing it together. Speaking of family, I have a younger brother, Brad, who also farms, and then both of my parents are divorced and remarried (my dad still lives in my hometown and my mom lives in Wisconsin now).
After high school, I went to college at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL and I absolutely loved it. I joined a sorority (Gamma Phi Beta – G Phi!), changed my major 3 times, and learned new skills like ice skating and creating sculptures. I ended up graduating in just 3 years, at the age of 20, with a degree in Advertising, focusing on Marketing and Communications. I really enjoyed my career path, and out of school, I took a “big girl job” right away in Atlanta, Georgia doing marketing and sales.
During this time, I started putting my degree to use for my personal brand by creating an Instagram account, which at the time was called @passion2befit. I started sharing my life as I was extremely passionate about fitness, nutrition, and all things related to health, and I quickly grew my following. I also started competing in the sport of bodybuilding, which was becoming a very popular sport.
While working at my corporate job in Atlanta, I quickly learned that it was not what I loved doing. After just 3 months, I quit my job and started working as a personal trainer at a gym, where I was much happier despite making very little income. I will spare you the long story here, but I ended up working three jobs and could barely pay my bills, so in the winter of 2013, I moved back to Illinois with my family, where I decided to start over.
This time, I found a local gym to work at, I continued to build my online social media presence, and I created my first business – an online coaching business. This business blew up very quickly, and within two years, I had hundreds of clients with success stories. During this time, I traveled all over, moving from Illinois to New York to Fargo.
While coaching, I also tried pursuing other businesses, such as creating a healthy meal prep company, and partnering with my friends who created a protein waffle brand. But eventually, I ended up right back in Illinois, with my family yet again. I retired as a bodybuilder in late 2015, but I continued to coach clients online. During this time, I went back to school at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I became a certified health coach.
In 2017, I decided to take one more chance and try out a new city. This time it was St. Louis, Missouri, where I had already made some great connections in the fitness community. I moved there, and since it was only abut 4 ½ hours from my hometown, it was convenient since I could easily drive home any time. Well, I’ve been living in St. Louis since then, and I don’t plan to leave (although I will always love my hometown)! In the last 3 years of living in St. Louis, I have evolved more than I ever knew possible.
I transitioned from a fitness coach to a holistic health coach, as I focused more on the overall health of my clients than on their appearance. A huge driver for this was the fact that I had developed many health issues from bodybuilding for so many years, and I began to understand that health was much more important. I also met the love of my life, Coleman, who is my better half. We have a big future planned and we are so excited to do life together!
I went back to school, again, to pursue esthetics as well. I enrolled at the Skin Institute, where I went through an intense 9 month program entirely focused around skin health. The reason I transitioned into this field is because skin is something I have always been obsessed with. I struggled with acne from the age of 12 until 26, and it was something that I was extremely self-conscious of. Going to school and learning all about skin became a new passion of mine, and since graduating in 2019, I have been blessed to work on beautiful women (and men) from all over!
While in school, I also launched an all-natural perfume line, called SCNT Naturals, which is the first line of perfume that is made with all clean ingredients and essential oils! I have business partners that have helped me develop this, and they are in New York where my headquarters is. I have now chosen to invest myself totally into my skincare clients as well as my perfume line, and I have stopped coaching altogether. I focus on leading a balanced and healthy lifestyle, and I am proud to say that I am overcoming most of my health conditions that developed from living in such an extreme way for so long (hypothyroidism, IBS, anxiety, and fertility issues).
Now, in 2020, I am a Medical Aesthetician at a plastic surgery center, and I help make people feel beautiful every single day! I absolutely love what I do, and wouldn’t change it for anything. I have also created my skincare line, A | N Skin and Beauty, and I could not be more excited about it. My skincare products contain medical grade formulations that are not only safe for the skin but also prove to be effective for my clients. I use these products every single day and they have helped my skin tremendously!
As you can see, my story is an interesting one, and I have transitioned many times with my career path, but one thing that will never change is the fact that I care about people, I live to serve others, and I love to provide services and products that can improve your life. If you have any questions about your skin, products, treatments, etc., please don’t hesitate to reach out!
