Diet is one of the 4 main causes of acne (the others are hormones, inflammation & bacteria). When it comes to nutrition, the key is to avoid certain foods & load up on certain foods. So I’m going to list the top foods to ditch and indulge in!
The top foods to avoid: dairy & sugar! Dairy contains casein protein which makes the liver produce IGF-1, a hormone which can cause your pores to over-produce sebum & get clogged! Dairy is also a common allergy and can cause inflammation.. acne itself is inflammatory, so minimizing inflammation is very important!
Sugar raises blood sugar and insulin, and this can also create breakouts on the skin. This is because spiked blood sugar levels trigger inflammation.
