The Power of Retinol Pads

March 24, 2021

When I think about the ingredient that has changed my skin the most, it is this: RETINOL. Retinol is truly the GOAT when it comes to skincare as it does so many amazing things for our complexion!

Retinol is a natural derivative of Vitamin A and it has powerful anti-aging properties. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, tightens the skin, builds collagen in the skin, evens skin tone and texture, and can even fight acne and acne scarring. Like I said.. it is the GOAT!

There are a few different forms of retinol that exist out there, but I personally LOVE our formula the best, as it is gentle enough for all skin types, and it won’t irritate or dry the skin like many retinol formulas can do. Our formula, containing Retinol 0.25%, is also packed with antioxidants such as Vitamin C, which lighten and brighten the skin! These antioxidants also protect your delicate skin from environmental stressors and sun damage, which are the main causes of premature aging of the skin.

Fun Fact: Our pads have Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, which is a specialized form of Vitamin C that actually penetrates the skin 50x more effectively than L-Ascorbic Acid. This form of Vitamin C is also clinically proven to reduce melanin synthesis (the creation of unwanted pigment), age spots, and sun-induced damage.

So let’s chat a little more about how to use these pads, and some contraindications shall we? Another thing I LOVE about our formula is that every pad in the jar is pre-soaked with the exact amount of product that you need so that you cannot over-use it or use too little! You will wipe an entire pad across your whole face, and you can even bring them down to your neck if your neck is not sensitive to skincare products. You will want to apply to clean skin (use the Daily Essential Cleanser), always, and do not apply any other active skincare products like acne creams, vitamin C serums, or anti-aging serums before using the Retinol pads. Use these pads only ONCE per week in the EVENING, and always moisturize after with Daily Hydration Moisturizer. ALSO: You must wear sunscreen during the day when using these products. I suggest the HydraGlow Tinted SPF!

So, as a recap, you will use the Retinol pads at night once per week, and you will do this for your skincare routine: cleanse, tone (optional), apply retinol pad, moisturize, go to bed! You will notice when you use these pads that your skin feels silky smooth after applying, and that is from the incredible formula in the pads, which contain Vitamin E and calming ingredients like Rosemary extract, which hydrate and keep the skin from drying out.

The only people who I do not recommend to use Retinol are the following:

  • Individuals with extremely sensitive or sensitized skin
  • Anyone who is allergic to any ingredient in the formula
  • People with compromised skin – sunburn, rashes, dermatitis
  • Pregnant women and those who are breastfeeding
**Always consult with your doctor or dermatologist before adding in new skincare products if you are under the supervision of a professional for your skin concerns.

The 0.25% Retinol Pads are an amazing addition to add to your skincare routine and there are 60 pads per jar! These pads will last you for quite some time and will give you unending benefits for your complexion! I cannot wait to see your results from adding these in – they have completely changed my skin!

Can you use them with glow pads?

You can use retinol pads while also using any other AN skin pads. However, you don’t want to use more than 1 pad at a time when applying. Retinol pads are to be used at night, all by themselves, with no other pads prior or after.

How many times a week should I use them?

Retinol pads are to be used 1x a week to begin. If skin tolerates well, you can use 2x a day.

What does retinol help with?

Retinol is an incredible ingredient that helps with multiple things. Retinol can improve fine lines, tighten the skin, reduce wrinkles, smooth the skin’s texture, reduce acne, improve scarring, and shrink the appearance of pores.

Does retinol do anything for acne/acne scarring?

Yes! Retinol can fight acne, lessen breakouts and congestion, and improve the appearance of scars. Retinol can be used on active breakouts/acne.

Can retinol pads help with rosacea?

It depends on the person. In some cases, retinol can actually improve rosacea. In other cases, it can irritate it. Please consult with your skin specialist before using this product if you have extremely sensitive, rosacea skin.

What should I not use with retinol?

Do not use any products with AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C serums, or benzoyl peroxide after using retinol. There is vitamin C in our retinol pads, but it is a different form than what you find in vitamin C serums and is safe for the skin.

Does retinol make my skin more sensitive?

Retinol can potentially make your skin a little more dry, and it also makes the skin more sensitive to the sun. This is why it is imperative to wear sunscreen DAILY when using retinol products, to properly protect your face, and to use moisturizer daily.

Can I use retinol pads while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Unfortunately, you cannot use retinol products with pregnant or breastfeeding.
